Positives #2

I recently received a bunch of negatives back from my local lab. I’m slowly going through and scanning them all. With the family asleep, i’m downstairs in the dimly lit living room alone with some calm music and my negatives.

As tedious as it is, I really do enjoy the process of handling the negatives, scanning and converting them to positives. There’s something special about seeing your image transform from negative to positive. You see how well (or terrible) your infield techniques were. It reminds me of my school darkroom days and seeing the image slowly appear in the developing bath. It’s not completely the same but you get my drift. One thing I don’t miss is all chemicals and the smell.

As per usual, there is a lot of opportunities to learn from these rolls. Regardless, I had a great time making these images. Below are some of my favorites. - M
