A Morning Escape

I was able to sneak out to see sunrise at one of my favorite viewpoints before our busy weekend got underway.

Monsoon moisture was in our forecast and it made for some dramatic lighting, clouds, thunder and lightning which is fairly rare for San Diego. Seeing the light dance with the clouds and hills never gets old. I have been making images from this location for over 10+ years and on this morning I may have made my favorite image from here on this morning. I have experienced many moments of dramatic lighting, big clouds, rolling fog, etc. but on this morning they all seemed to dance together in a way that seemed so harmonious.

There are times where the world seems to slow down for you and for me, today was one of those rare moments. That 45 minute window felt like hours. It was one of those sunrises that I will remember for quite some time.
